WONDER WOMEN
Wonder Women is an 11-month long editorial-style photography project that captures the story and journey of 11 courageous and passionate Australian sportswomen, Wonder Women, who don't necessarily 'fit the norm'.
The project aims to inspire more women and girls on a global scale to believe in themselves, to overcome challenges of self-doubt and image obsession, and gain greater sense of opportunities as they follow their dreams and passion.
This project is not just about the sport, rather a platform to highlight the women themselves, their determination, skills, love and success in their chosen sport, so that it can make an impact on other people's lives.
More women need to be recognised in the public arena for their outstanding achievements. Some are Paralympians and national champions representing Australia, yet unknown to many.
The Wonder Women Photography Project hopes to inspire others to follow their passion and shine. This project has provided me an opportunity to take my work to another level.
Thank you for allowing our lens into your life. Maya Sugiharto & Aviva Minc
